MTSS affords schools the opportunity to create a supportive framework for all students to have their unique needs met within the academic, social-emotional and behavioral domains. Since all students are first, general education students, it is imperative that the stakeholders of the MTSS committees have a lens of how to support special education students as well. Through increased collaboration between general education and special education, we see the possibilities of exploring multi-access points within the Least Restrictive Environment to maximize the outcomes of all students. Shifts have included;  designing multiple entry points for students to access instruction, writing CCSS aligned grade level IEP goals, maximizing the use of accommodations, changing service delivery model for SpEd to include more time within general education with support and targeting high leverage skill deficits through effective intervention.
